Please note that this is the USSSA 1.15 BPF 2012 version of this bat. Approved for play in all big barrel youth organizations for 2012 and beyond! The SL11EX2 concept is simple: increase the handle stiffness and strength without increasing the weight. The barrel is made with the industry leading AC21 alloy. The Transition area has metal that is trimmed in a grid pattern, then replaced with carbon composite inserts that are several times stronger and lighter than the metal they replace. The heart of the Exogrid is a carbon sleeve, which provides greater handle stiffness than aluminum alone ever could. Unidirectional fibers run the full length of the handle. Using a combination of heat and extreme pressure, the sleeve, inserts and metal wall are bonded to function as a single, solid unit.
